Sweet Time

I LOVE the part of the night after bath where Savannah sits in my lap and let's me brush out her hair...it's a sweet moment. I love the smell of the body wash/shampoo, the fact that she is relaxed and snuggly, and the feelings of contentment...

Every once in a while, we like to go a little "crazy" around here...we put the music player on shuffle, crank up the volume and dance our pants off around the house...singing all the while of course!! Here are pics from our latest "Dance Party" - FUN! I'd better enjoy it while I can. Right now the kids think it's "fun" and that "mom is SO COOL cuz she let's us do this", but pretty soon it will be "embarrassing" and I'll be "lame"!

FREE KISSES...

I can't remember if I've blogged about this before and I don't really care! It's SO CUTE that if I HAVE blogged about it in the past, you'll probably forgive me......

Aiden has come to a new conclusion: he can get ALMOST anything he wants for offering "free kisses". In fact, his favorite number to promise happens to be FIVE so I hear this OFTEN....

Aiden: "Mom, can I have....(fill in the blank...just about anything you can imagine!)....I'll give you FIVE FREE KISSES if you LET ME!!"

Mom: who TRIES to negotiate, but SERIOUSLY folks, who can say "no" to FREE KISSES from a loving little boy with big eyes and a stinker-y demeanor?!?!!?

FIVE FREE KISSES...I just got some for a pack of Yo-Go's...and it's SNACK TIME...the joke is on HIM!! hahahahahahahaahahahahahaahah!

Girl After My Own Heart!

So, tonight we are watching Nickelodean and a commercial comes on for the 2009 Kids Choice Awards...there's like an action scene where "The Rock" (aka: "mom's boyfriend") is carrying a briefcase, there are things blowing up, he is driving a HOT sports car and of course, he's wearing a TIGHT t-shirt and form-fitting pants...ummm...becuase he's FRIGGEN' HOT!!! The Rock asks the car in a serious voice if he looks good and then SMILES...Savannah yells, "HE HAS NICE TEETH!!" - awww yeah baby! For those of you who know me, I mean REALLY know me, you are aware that TEETH are the FIRST thing I notice in the opposite sex...and since this man is "my boyfriend" I am WELL AWARE of how "NICE" his teeth are!! Man, I was SO excited when she said that!! My little Sweet Pea...a girl after my own heart!

Guiness Book of FLAPJACKS!

Valentine's Day...February 14th, 2009...

What better way to spend your Valentine's Day than waiting in line at the FARGODOME (which, for you non-MN/ND natives is the largest building in the area where we host concerts and football games - GO BISON!) for PANCAKES!!? There is a local group called Kilwanis (spelling?) who do this pancake feed every year and LAST year, got into the Guiness Book of World Records for the number of pancakes served in one day. So, THIS year, they decided to have it on Valentine's Day and serve at the DOME to see if they could BEAT their record...long story short: we went around 10:00 am (they served from 7am-7pm), waited in line for an HOUR and then STUFFED our faces with FRESHLY made flapjacks (I like to say that word) and sausage (which I HATE, but Chad and the kids REALLY like!).

Here we are waiting in line~it's a good thing the kids weren't STARVING upon arrival!!

Here, I just raised my camera in the air and took a picture, it was MAYBE 1/10th of the people that were there WHEN WE WERE THERE!

Parker got his pancakes first...he LOVES pancakes!!

The guy that was going around passing out coffee offered to take a pic with "mom" in it! That's the friendliness we are used to in the Midwest!!

We even found Grandma Pam and Emmett!! Actually...they found US!
THEN...as if FLAPJACKS weren't enough...we got to experience the largest grouping of those blow-up toy/carnivals around!! The kids had a BLAST and there were NO LINES! PERFECT!

I LOVE this picture!! Boys from a local college football team were in charge of the games and helping out with the pancake making!! Good job guys!! You know, I never DID find out if the record was broken this lovely Valentine's Day...oh well, whether or not...we had a GREAT time!

Chocolate Fondue!

It's snack time at the Juntunen home, and tonight, mom is serving: CHOCOLATE FONDUE!

A snippit of my life....

Mom: "Aiden, can you please bring your plate over here to the sink?"

Aiden (at the sink): "Mom, can I pour out the rest of my milk?"

Mom: "How much is left?"

Aiden: "ummm...about 3 glugks"

Mom: "GLUGKS?"

Aiden: "Yeah, you know....glugk, glugk, glugk" (making swallowing noises & hand gesture of holding cup at mouth)
* I laughed and laughed and laughed....how CREATIVE!

The Children and I like to find new, little, cute places to eat. This evening, they wanted to go to Scheels to eat! It's a sporting goods store that has a cute deli and a yummy candy store in the back. Tonight, I opted for the salad...I had NO IDEA it was this HUGE!!

This monster had ham chunks, grilled chicken chunks, tomatoes, eggs, green peppers, onion, lettuce, cheese, cucumbers, and carrots in it!! You could eat off this thing for AT LEAST two meals!! It was yummy!

The kids got a free Ferris Wheel token with their meals! It was the first time Savannah got to ride on it. Aiden was excited they were put in the Bison cart!

Sleepy Girl

Poor Savannah...she has strep-throat and we are on our way home from the doctor's office. I could tell she wasn't feeling good for the past day or so, although, she kept denying that her throat hurt, and she REFUSED to let it slow her down! Guess the vibrations from the car and the warmth got to her! Poor little punkin!

Gotta Do What Ya Gotta Do

Sometimes, as a wife, you are put into a position where you have to do something you may not be exactly THRILLED to do. Case in point: Last Saturday I attended an "Ultimate Fighting" party at Paul's house (the kids affectionately call him, "uncle Paul"!). How many of you ladies out there get all REVVED up for an Ultimate Fighting match!?! Yeah, I don't see ANY of you raising your hands! ha, ha, ha...

This is Chad and Paul...I could elaborate on their friendship, but I'd probably get in trouble...BIG trouble. Let's just say that EVERY time they get together, SOMEONE gets in trouble...Paul calls me "The Warden" so I BET you can figure out WHO is usually getting into trouble!

This is me and my new friend Kim. She's a HOOT, I enjoy her MUI MUCH! We are drinking this "moonshine" that Timmy (he works with Chad) and his wife Tammy made- it's called Apple Pie. Let me tell you, it tastes EXACTLY like the warm, yummy apple pie that Grandma Pat makes!! WHOO-HOO! However, you must be careful when consuming this delicious concoction...it will kick your ass in the end if you're not careful! I only had this much...I was the designated driver.....hold your applause, I KNOW I'm a rockin' wife (at least ONCE in a while - wink!!).

This is Steve...we LOVE Steve, he's such a good guy! He is affectionately hugging one of Paul and Michelle's 4 Mastiff (spelling?) doggies!! They are HUGE and SLOBBERY! The perfect loveable companion! (Sorry Paul, I can't remember which puppy this is!).
