This year for Valentine's Day at school, the 4th graders were faced with a "creative challenge"---they got to take home a brown paper bag and they had to decorate them with things they like. The instruction sheet TOLD them to use stickers, props, drawings, ect, and if they did all that, they earned these special "points". These "points" could get them "treats" from the class "treat bin" (can you tell how supportive I am of FORCING kids to be creative and making them think that the more "stuff" they have to put on their bags, the more "points" they will get!? GOOD GRIEF!). Anyway, Parker has TWO classes he goes to during the day so he had to make TWO of these darned bags!
For his main class, he chose a Football theme. Isn't this cute!? It was all his idea...even the little prop! We don't have toy football players so we substituted a wrestler---oh well! I love that he thought of having the little sticker football look as though it is flying! My creative input was using straws to make the goal posts "pop out"!!
Parker also enjoys COOKING---so he thought up this little bag! Isn't it cute? We hand-drew the mitt and on the back, we used a recipe card and he HAND WROTE the recipe for Sheppards Pie (sp?) on it! He sure is thorough! It was REALLY fun working with him on this and seeing his thoughts come to life!
Look at these beautiful works of art!! Great job and creativity, Parker!! And yes, he earned ALL the points for his efforts!
